Very Thankful

So much has happened so quickly since the diagnosis of osteosarcoma and as I sit back and reflect on the last couple of months, with all the Vet visits, the surgery, the x rays, the blood work, the chemo, all the side effect woes, the atrocious unexpected costs, I am reminded of one thing. I am damn thankful for this happy, little tripawd who is so filled with love & just lights up the room!

Kylie does NOT care she only has 3 legs! She is happy that she is no longer in excruciating pain! She does NOT care about the 2.5hr drive through stressful Toronto traffic every 2-3 weeks for chemo, she is just happy for the road trip with Mom & Dad! She even gets to sit up front in the truck between us & gets pets and snuggles the whole way.  She is happy to be able to go for short walks in her neighbourhood again & see people! She is living a normal life again.. & pain free!

So since this weekend is our Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, I am not only thankful for the basics (roof over my head, a good job, my health, my family & friends) but I am SO grateful that there are skilled Vets, Surgeons and Oncologists out there as well as the countless Vet Tech’s & receptionists, that all continue to ensure my best friend gets the best care & treatment for whatever time we are blessed to have her with us in this lifetime.

Please go HUG & smooch your pets right now and give them a nice little belly rub from Kylie & I

xoxo
